Pi in the Sky, designed by Lily Chin

Lyndell Wright has modified Lily Chin's 'Pi in the Sky' design to suit Colinette Giotto (L).

This dramatic design can be found in the book 'Handpaint Country'

The Giotto colourway that Lyndell has chosen for this project is 'Raphael'.

Pi In The Sky, rear view of wedges

The rear view (L) of Pi in the Sky shows how, essentially, this wrap jacket is knitted as a very large circle, with inserts for the sleeves.

(R) Lyndell then modified the pie-shaped wedges to create a matching beret.

A stunning outfit !

There was some fabulous work to be seen at the 2005 Geelong Fibre Forum.

With knitting workshops being run by Karen Searle, Liz Gemmel and Lynne Johnson, it was  a great Knit Fest.

Liz Gemmel's students were inspired by her work with bias knitting.

Peter Davies of Geelong created this fabulous piece (L) by imaginatively joining two bias knit pieces in Colinette Isis. The result incorporated a shawl collar, beautiful hemline detail, and fluid drape

This whole garment took just 2 hanks in Frangipani

Della (L) has made this ample sized bias knit shawl from 3 hanks of Colinette Graffiti in Jay.

Kylie (R) somehow found time to do her own knitting as well as her 'homework' from Karen Searle's class. She's completed the Kite design from the Tagliatelli book, as a gift to her mother.

Maura (R) gave us a twirl in her flared coat she's knitted in Fandango.

The pattern is 'Holly' from the Trilogy book, and Maura's added her own super-cosy collar and cuffs to the pattern.

Giotto Cardigan200_5.jpg (15745 bytes) Lyndell Wright of NSW fell in love with Giotto and, after very cleverly converting Lily M Chin's Pi Jacket and knitting it in the Raphael colourway, she then went on to make two pieces in Mist for her daughter.

" Both are from the Giotto pattern book - the Cardigan is the "Sienna"
cardigan - I don't think I made any real changes to the pattern.   The
singlet is basically the "Orvieto" one only I made the straps different and
I used a simple lace stitch."

JeniThrow300_5.jpg (17774 bytes)

Jeni in Victoria has a passion for knitting throws in Colinette Yarns - and we can see from the pic (left) that there's at least one appreciative user of these two Point 5 throws she's worked, one in Monet, one in Fire. Jeni's next projects are to be in Graffiti and Giotto.
